BGE, Inc. is excited to announce that Aaron Orozco is the recipient of its 2024 Pat Brown Leadership Award. The award, named after one of BGE’s founders, L.S. “Pat” Brown, honors an employee who embodies the BGE Way and demonstrates servant leadership in professional, community, or non-profit organizations.
Aaron joined BGE in 2019 and serves as a project manager in the Public Works department at the firm’s Houston office. He was selected for the honor as he has shown unwavering dedication to the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Houston Branch and the Houston Engineer’s Week Committee, an effort that has resulted in a significant impact to the community of young engineers.
Aaron has served in various committee and board officer roles within ASCE and led ASCE’s AIA Sandcastle Competition Team for three years. His commitment extends to the Houston Engineer’s Week Committee, where he chaired the Silent Auction Committee for three years. His efforts in coordinating activities and ensuring a seamless auction resulted in raising over $30,000, which was awarded as scholarships to students.
Additionally, Aaron has chaired the Young Engineers Event, honoring over 30 young professionals for their dedication and service. He currently serves as ASCE Houston’s Vice President and Vice Chair of the Houston Engineer’s Week Committee and will serve as the Houston Engineer’s Week Chair for the 2024-25 year.
Congratulations, Aaron! We are inspired by your leadership and dedication to making a difference in our community.
