Jay Dougherty, RPLS, MSL, Joins BGE as Survey Director

BGE, Inc. today announced that William (Jay) Dougherty, Jr. has joined the company as Survey Director. He will be based in BGE’s office in The Woodlands, Texas.

Jay brings extensive experience in Survey and Land Acquisition, backed by a successful 18-year career in leadership roles with CenterPoint Energy, including Director of Land and Field Services (LFS).

In his last position with CenterPoint, Jay led the strategic direction for the LFS department, supported internal and external clients, and managed land rights, encroachments, acquisitions, divestitures, land surveying, regional teams, and several multimillion-dollar projects across Louisiana, Mississippi, Indiana, Ohio, Minnesota, and Texas. Further, he represented CenterPoint Energy before governmental agencies, developers, landowners, and legal proceedings.

Jay holds a Bachelor of Business Management Degree and a Master of Strategic Leadership from LeTourneau University.

Jay’s personal values, centered around helping others, have led him to volunteer in various capacities. He has been involved in renovating homes for those less fortunate and actively participating in community events such as the Alzheimer’s Walk, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, United Negro College Fund, March of Dimes, Junior Achievement, United Way, Komen Walk for a Cure, Compassion International, and teaching Sunday School for kids.

In addition to his family, he enjoys fitness training, music, reading, and web browsing the latest technologies, home and auto renovation projects, landscaping, and gardening vegetables and flowers.
